"Shimmers" called to us from across many miles and gave us just a glimpse of a world beyond...just enough to answer the call and find ourselves enraptured. It promised a place of ancient mysteries, intrigue, imagination and inspiration and so we found ourselves at the edge of "Deep Waters". Would we take the plunge and see where the adventure would lead? We felt drawn to the currents and depths; to the light glimmering on the surface and the cool refreshment found there. And then we wandered on, somehow the same and yet impacted in a profound way. And so we came upon a place named Hulsciwan that became a place of our imagination and yet tangible and very earthy; a place where we feel very much at home.

All who come will surely enjoy spending the day at "Hulsciwan Fair" with it's timeless sense of community, sharing and fun. But bordering it all is the shining jewel, "Lake Hulsciwan"; not calm and placid but vibrant in exotic shades of blue and green that take the breath away; a source of life with a startling passionate pristine beauty. At times it seems to have a murky mystery in its depths but in the next moment there is a sense of warmth and beauty that mirrors all that is good in Hulsciwan.

And should you visit us there, you may be surprised to find yourself at home in the strains of familiar melodies or in the enchanted evenings spent listening to distant drums and the sounds of life in Hulsciwan. You may find funny little twists and turns throughout your journey. I think you will enjoy the fun of an unexpected Scottish melody adopting a Bach chorale or was Bach caught wearing a kilt? And in the magic of a place where even the cute little imps that caused us annoying griefs were given their own dance and sent on their merry way; where some ancient flutes sing their beautiful old songs and mingle with tribal drums from another land. Hulsciwan is a place of dreams, embracing the unexpected with humour and freedom to explore. May you enjoy the journey as much as we did!
