about

This is music I made to go along with our travel across the US in 2021.

K-Bar: This is a boon docking camp site in the Big Bend NP. We managed to see Big Bend just after the winter snow storm that went through Texas in January of 21. The rangers told us this is a special treat. We didn’t think so, because some of the attractions and hikes were closed.

Chihuahuan Desert: Inspired by driving through this West Texas desert.

Tribute - Guadalupe: This is a tribute to John Lee Hooker, ZZ Top and the jewel of the far west of Texas: Guadalupe NP

Palo Duro: Inspired by the calm and mediative canyon near Amarillo.

Teddy R: This is the first stop on our summer travels in North Dakota, Teddy Roosevelt NP.

Altitude: Hitting the mountains of Montana after the Badlands of North Dakota

Turning: The Pacific NW and our turning point for going back home.

Blues6415: Traveling through eastern Washington State into Idaho seemed like the right time for a blues. In contrast to the standard blues chord progression the chorus has a chord progression of VI, IV, I, V. Why? I don’t know.

Bad Heat: Going back through Wyoming and South Dakota to Minnesota we were welcomed by 117F (47C) degree heat. Too hot to handle.

JoPlWeMe-787: A little bonus piece inspired by the diversity of the midwestern landscape. The piece is four versions of BWV 787. The first is in the spirit of what J. S. Bach could have played; second is Paco Lucia followed by Wendy Carlos. My own version is last. I hope JSB isn’t too upset about this.
